|Question:||Is it possible to verify if an axis is present on the system via the MotionWorks IEC application program?|
|Answer:||Yes, there are a couple ways. An ErrorID of 4625 (invalid axis) will be output if a PLCopen function block is executed with an AXIS_REF axis which is not defined or not present on a system. The example in the attached pdf shows logic to indicate that an axis is not present on the system.|
Another method, available in firmware version 2.0 and higher, is to read parameter 1330, which indicates the Mechatrolink communication status of the specified axis.
