Trouble launching an eLearning Module?
There have been a few instances of customers having trouble running eLearning Modules (eLMs) on their computers. Microsoft has really increased the security inside of both Internet Explorer 6 as well as Internet Explorer 7 to try and prevent hackers. While this is good when making an online purchase, it could cause trouble with our eLMs. If you have trouble launching an eLM, the items below can remedy the situation.
Remedy #1 – Turn off pop up blocker (Tools – Pop up Blocker). Attempt to launch the eLM again.
Remedy #2 – If a yellow header bar appears on the top of the screen mentioning “blocked content” right click on the header bar and choose “allow blocked content”. You may need to do this two times. Attempt to launch the eLM again.
Remedy #3 – Reduce the Internet Explorer security level to “medium” (Tools – Internet Options – Security – click on internet globe). Attempt to launch the eLM again.
Remedy #4 – We have had a few people that have had issues with using Flash Player version 10. In this instance the frame of the eLM will appear but the eLM will not launch.
- If you are using Internet Explorer:
If you have Flash Player version 10 or above installed, uninstall Flash Player 10 and install Flash Player 9 using this small software application. Launch the eLM again.
Remedy #5 – Yaskawa eLMs will work on computers using Internet Explorer 6 or Internet Explorer 7. Internet Explorer 7 has many known issues with running Flash based programs using Active X Control. If you experience any issues running Yaskawa eLMs with Internet Explorer 7, please download and install the Firefox browser.
Remedy #6 - Some of the eLearning Modules use a file called “stealthray.swf” to launch the eLM in a new window. Adobe flash player blocks this file by default and without this file the eLM will not function properly. If this situation arises, the following “Adobe Flash Player Security” window will be displayed. To remedy this situation, view details.
Remedy #7 – If you are using Internet Explorer 8, there is a setting adjustment you must make to view Yaskawa eLearning Modules. Go to “Tools” – “Compatibility View Settings” and check the option box “Display all websites in compatibility view”. Then restart the eLearning Module.
