| Question: | What is the current rating for the Run and Fault output contacts on a GPD 515/G5? |
| Answer: | It is a 1Amp at a maximum voltage of 250 VAC or 30VDC. The 30VDC rating applies to inductive loads such as relays and contactors. DC coils draw more of an arc when the contact opens than AC coils and arcing could eventually lead to premature failures of these contacts. Adding a reversed biased diode to suppress this arc across the DC coil is recommended in all cases. If these outputs are being used by the customer for Non-Inductive loads, then the 1Amp rating is still fine at 48VDC. |
