Question:Can a remote Hand/Off/Auto switch be connected to the E7B product?
Answer:Yes, a Hand/Off/Auto switch can be connected to the E7B product by configuring a 3 position H/O/A switch as follows:

Remote HAND:
  • Close a contact between Drive terminals S5 & SN. The Drive then uses parameter d1-02 for the speed command. By factory default for the E7B the Drive has 6.0 HZ in parameter d1-02, however, any value can be pre-set. When in Hand (either local or remote) this (d1-02) speed will be in effect and can be changed from the keypad via U1-01 or d1-02. No other programming is required.
  • Additionally, close a contact between E7B terminals TB1-3 and TB1-4 to provide the run command for the remote "Hand" mode.

Remote OFF:
  • Open a contact between E7B terminals TB1-5 & TB1-6 (any parallel contacts must also be open). The Drive will ramp to a stop.

Remote AUTO:
  • Close a contact between E7B terminals TB1-3 & TB1-4 to provide the run command for the remote "Auto" mode. Open the contact between Drive terminals S5 & SN. The Drive then uses Drive terminals A2 & AC for the speed command signal.
  • When changing from Hand to Auto (or the reverse) the speed change is ramped according to values set in parameters C1-01 and C1-02.

Notes:
1.The remote H/O/A also functions for the Bypass mode.

    2. With this configuration, the H/O/A and Drive/Bypass controls on the E7B front panel continue to function without conflict. A user can gain local control (Hand) regardless of the status of the remote H/O/A.

    3. Switching through OFF going from Hand to Auto will not stop the drive. The Drive will ramp down only as long as the H/O/A switch is in the OFF position. A ramp disturbance will not be noticeable if the H/O/A is switched through the OFF position quickly.
