Yes. The attached files demonstrate the basics that are required for calculating a cam profile that will match speed with a web, then perform a blended s-curve move to advance or retard the slave, typically a knife or print roller.
The excel worksheet below is the basis for the cam calculations in SMC code. The resulting cam profile can be viewed in excel very easily. The data in Excel and the variables in the SMC example are close matches so the two are easier to compare. The major difference between the two calculations (Excel & SMC) is: Excel uses radians with the sin functions and the SMC uses degrees.
This SMC example makes it easy to recalculate the cam if a different part size is required.
