This document is meant to provide basic guidelines in the application of AC drives and output filters for step-up transformer applications. The observations made here can be extended to the use of output filters without step-up transformer as well. The proper selection and use of sinusoidal output filters in step-up applications can result in lower motor and transformer stresses. The recommendations discussed in this article should be kept in mind while applying output filters.
The following document compares the various DeviceNet offerings for the following Yaskawa drives: F7, G7, P7, V7, V7N, G5, G5HHP, P5, and V1000. Yaskawa has released many DeviceNet solutions over the last 10 years and there is no easy rule as to which kit to use. This document attempts to summarize what each kit's features are to aid in choosing a kit for a new installation or replacing/adding a kit in the field.
Inverters incorporate electrolytic capacitors and other electronic components that incorporate chemical changes. The characteristics of these components may change during long periods of storage. This document discusses storage place, periodic application of power, and environment-resistance specifications. 2 pages.
This document contains a basic description of configuring, connecting and controlling a Yaskawa AC Drive with either a ControlLogix or CompactLogix PLC on an EtherNet/IP network. Although the description uses a single Yaskawa AC Drive, the principle can be expanded to include a large number of devices. This document and the examples contained herein do not describe all possible methods of connectivity and programming.
The attached app note describes how to configure the Device Object Instance Identifier. This feature was recently added to the CM049 option. The way in which it is set is rather non-standard. Normally, one would enter the value into the product (ie, via the digital operator), but with the E7 BACnet option this is not possible. Therefore, this app note was created to show how to write the value over the BACnet network using a commonly available tool.
This document describes how SI-P3 & SI-P3/V comply to the PROFIdrive standard. PROFIdrive is a standardized method, within the Profibus-DP protocol of accessing and controlling a drive. It allows for the replacement of a drive that conforms to the PROFIdrive profile with any other conforming drive regardless of manufacturer.
