SSFDC = Solid State Floppy Disk Card. More information regarding SmartMedia Technology can be obtained from the following web site: http://www.ssfdc.or.jp/english/spec/index.htm
The EXOR Touch Screen series HMIs - eTOP10,11,12,30 currently ship with externally removable 8 Meg SSFDC SmartMedia cards already installed. 8 Meg is the largest memory capacity currently available with the current version of Designer for these HMIs (part #: MEM-08) - future development will allow increased memory capacity.
The memory card stores the user program, and can be a medium for storing/transfering the Boot, Firmware, and MIPs code which operates the HMI. The advantage of memory card allows the user to easily maintain/upgrade the HMI program & firmware once the HMI has been installed in the field.
Contents on SSFDC Card:
*Boot Code = 300k
*Firmware = 409k
*MIPS Code = 316k
*MIPs Service = 32k
Protocol = typical 32k
User Program = variable
* = once the Boot, Firmware, MIPs Code, and MIPS Service are transfered to the HMI processor, they can be deleted from the SSFDC.
This memory card can also be purchased from any general retail store which sells this common SmartMedia storage technology.
