Yes. The attached files highlight the core of a flying shear application that is the cam calculations used to smoothly adjust the motor from one cut to the next, providing the optimum profile for the fastest possible machine speed.
The key is the Recalc subroutine, which calculates the straight-line profile based on the machine system properties, and superimposes an S Curve profile on the straight line in the portion of the move where the cutter is not in contact with the product.
The Excel file provides a quick way to understand the motion profile based on the values entered for the application. By setting these same values in MW+, a wide range of scenarios can be accommodated. It is possible to change the machine cycle (product length) at run time and recalculate the profile for a new product.
If the application requires adjustment based on product registration, use the CAM SHIFT or SLAVE OFFSET block for on the fly adjustement.
