FAQ: How is the home sensor wired when using an SGDH with an NS600?

When connecting an NS600 to the SGDH, the NS600 will mask off all of the digital input signals and set them according to Table 3.5 as shown on page 3-6 of the Indexer User's Manual. Pin 44 is configured by the NS600 to act as the /DEC switch (Home Input), which causes deceleration and search for the C-pulse (or whatever method is configured by Pn823.) Note that Pin 44 can be configured for N.O. or N.C. by parameter 80E.
To run the homing routine, the Indexer must be placed into Mode 1 by selecting Mode 1 using the Mode 0/1 switch on Pin 3 of the NS600's CN4. After selecting Mode 1, the /Start-Stop; /HOME switch on Pin 5 of the NS600 Cn4 must be set to ON to begin the homing routine. Both of these signals can be configured for N.O. or N.C. by parameters Pn803 and Pn804 respectively.
