John Piff is Yaskawa America’s Vice President of Finance. John was promoted to Vice President in September 2019. With over 40 years of experience John is an accomplished financial executive who began his career as an Internal Auditor with GATX Corporation, a capital equipment leasing company listed on the NYSE who’s portfolio of assets included tank and freight railcars, locomotive engines, airplanes, public terminals for liquid logistics and great lakes ships. John held various positions of increasing responsibility in accounting and finance including Controller of a major subsidiary.

John started his career with Yaskawa America in November 2000 as Manager of Financial Planning and has held a number of positions of increasing responsibility within the finance function. As Vice President of Finance, John and his team provide for the company-wide management of financial controls, consolidated financial reporting, accounting, budgeting, forecasting, treasury, payroll and credit and collections. John left an organization in GATX that was founded in 1898 to come to an organization in Yaskawa that was founded in 1915. Obviously, stability has been very important to John in his career choices. In Yaskawa, John found an organization steeped in different cultures with the same values as his own. Values that are built upon quality products, teamwork, employee development, respect for others, continuous improvement, a positive attitude with sound decision making. John is proud to be part of a best in class finance organization that partners with the various Yaskawa businesses to provide solid financial support, responsible planning and analysis services and strong internal controls. John earned his BS in Accountancy and MBA in Finance from DePaul University and his CPA from the state of Illinois.

As Vice President of Finance, my team and I provide the company-wide management of financial controls, consolidated financial reporting, accounting, budgeting, forecasting, treasury, payroll, and credit and collections.
