Road Show Outline

Class Topics:

The Drives Road Show Training class is designed to give technicians and engineers a basic foundation of drives knowledge as well as answers to issues that come up with their drive applications.

Part 1 of the Road Show training class addresses specific issues of the students. Each student is asked about their drives experience, the drive applications found in their plant, and what they want to learn about drives. Once the students' training needs are determined, a course outline for Part 1 is created by the Training Engineer.

Part 2 of the Road Show training class provides the students with a basic foundation of drives knowledge. Class topics include, but are not limited to:

  • Theory of Operation
    • Drive versus an across the line motor starter
    • Basic Drive Configuration
    • V/Hz discussion
    • PWM
    • Carrier Frequency
    • Reactors
    • Motor Consideration
  • Energy Savings
  • Manual Layout
  • Hands-on application programming exercises

A combination of lecture and hands-on demonstrations allows students to become more comfortable with the products.

None

Class Format:
Class times for a Drives Road Show Training class will vary with the customer. Class length is approximately seven hours with a 45-minute lunch and two 15-minute breaks. The class consists of approximately 70% lecture and 30% hands-on exercises.

Continuing Education Units:
Continuing Education Units will be awarded to those students that attend this training class in its entirety and pass the certification test with a score of 80%. Yaskawa does not provide partial CEU credits for less than 100% attendance. As an IACET Authorized Provider, Yaskawa America Inc. offers CEUs for its programs that qualify under the ANSI/IACET Standard. Yaskawa America, Inc. is authorized by IACET to offer 0.6 CEUs for this program.

Class Materials:
Students will receive a copy of the Road Show Training Reference Manual as well as selected product user and instruction manuals in paper and/or electronic format.

If canceling within three weeks of the Road Show scheduled date, 100% of the total.
