PROFIBUS

PROFIBUS (PROcess FIeld BUS) is an RS-485 based fieldbus network, capable of multidrop nodes. It is a widely popular fieldbus network that comes in two main styles: PROFIBUS-DP and PROFIBUS-PA. While two options are available, Yaskawa option cards are only compliant to PROFIBUS-DP. It is complemented by its Ethernet-based counterpart, PROFINET.
