Is it possible for outputs of an NS600 indexer to activate inputs of another NS600 indexer unit? Posted Date: 10/17/2002 Answer: Yes. In a multi axis system, this method of I/O manipulation is very useful. For instance in a 2 axis system, suppose the first axis has to make a move and get to a particular position before the second axis starts its motion. Once the first axis is in position, set an output to directly signal the secondary axis to start motion. When the second axis reaches its target position, it could set an output to tell the first axis the move is complete. The same concept can be applied for a series of index moves and stops. The Zone outputs are also very useful if mechanical interference between axes exists in certain positions. Set the Zone output after the first axis is out of the interference zone. Another axis could use this as an input to begin motion. The same concept can be applied to multiple mechanisms working in conjunction with each other. Is a driver available for the Exor HMI to talk to the JUSP-NS600 Sigma II Indexer application module? Posted Date: 02/22/2005 Answer: Yes. An Exor HMI driver for the JUSP-NS600 Sigma II Indexer application module has been developed and released. The latest driver, UPLC156.DLL, is attached below and is Version 3.02 DLL 5.03 for "Yaskawa Indexer", and was created 10/25/02. The Exor HMI driver in conjunction with the Indexer will allow the user to do the following: 1. Read and write all Indexer (Pn800 to Pn834) and SGDH parameters (Pn000 to Pn601). 2. Read and write the Indexer program table, jog speed table, and PLS zone tables. 3. Monitor I/O, position, speed, torque, program status, alarms, errors, product information, and more. 4. Perform setup procedures such as: absolute encoder setup, online auto-tuning, basic operation commands, and broadcast global commands to all axes on the network. In "rotary shortest" mode, what direction will the motor move if the commanded index is exactly opposite of the current position? Posted Date: 03/18/2002 Answer: In the rotary shortest mode of operation, the NS600 calculates the distance that the motor needs to travel in either direction to get from the current commanded position to the target position and rotates in the direction with the smaller distance. If the forward and reverse distances are equal, the motor will run in the forward direction. This decision is based on commanded position, not on actual position. forward distance < reverse distance : forward direction forward distance = reverse distance : forward direction forward distance > reverse distance : reverse direction To reverse the default forward/reverse direction, use parameter Pn000.0. By default, the forward direction is counterclockwise when viewing the shaft. How is the home sensor wired when using an SGDH with an NS600? Posted Date: 07/24/2013 Answer: When connecting an NS600 to the SGDH, the NS600 will mask off all of the digital input signals and set them according to Table 3.5 as shown on page 3-6 of the Indexer User's Manual. Pin 44 is configured by the NS600 to act as the /DEC switch (Home Input), which causes deceleration and search for the C-pulse (or whatever method is configured by Pn823.) Note that Pin 44 can be configured for N.O. or N.C. by parameter 80E. To run the homing routine, the Indexer must be placed into Mode 1 by selecting Mode 1 using the Mode 0/1 switch on Pin 3 of the NS600's CN4. After selecting Mode 1, the /Start-Stop; /HOME switch on Pin 5 of the NS600 Cn4 must be set to ON to begin the homing routine. Both of these signals can be configured for N.O. or N.C. by parameters Pn803 and Pn804 respectively.
