Is there more information available on installing the SigmaWin+ USB driver for Sigma-5 amplifiers? Posted Date: 06/03/2014 Answer: The USB driver must be manually installed from Windows Device Manager by using "update driver software" and browsing to the directory containing the file CpUSB.sys. The 64-bit driver is named CpUSB.sys and is located at: C:\Program Files (x86)\SigmaIDE\SigmaWinPlus\Driver\USB\x64 The 32-bit driver is named CpUSB.sys and is located at: C:\Program Files\SigmaIDE\SigmaWinPlus\Driver\USB For more details, refer to the USB driver installation procedure. This procedure must be repeated when a different USB port is used on the PC. SigmaWin+ help is a valuable resource for this and other information related to the software. The message box has the title "InitializeSyntaxChecker" ADODB Initialize, and the detail message is: Error 3706: "Provider cannot be found. It may not be installed properly." InCompressProgram. Posted Date: 06/25/2013 Answer: This error occurs when the PC does not have a Windows component called MDAC installed. This typically occurs on computers that do not have Microsoft Office. This component includes tools for database usage. A simple remedy to this error is to go to the Microsoft website, http://www.microsoft.com/ and search for MDAC in the search box at the upper right of the web page. Information there will guide you to the proper version of MDAC for your computer. Microsoft allows it to be downloaded and installed it at no cost. Future versions of Yterm will include the component, eliminating this error. Is there information available on replacing a Sigma-5 Mechatrolink ServoPack in a system controlled by an MPiec Series Controller without using MotionWorks IEC software? Posted Date: 09/23/2013 Answer: Yes. This Servopack replacement procedure requires MPiec controller's firmware version to be 2.2.1 or above: 1. Login to the MPiec webserver. 2. Select the "Drive Parameters" page. 3. Under "User Parameters" select "Write" for the replaced servopack(s). The parameters are saved into the replaced Servopack. 4. Cycle power on the system. 5. After the system reboots, under "User Parameters," press Verify to confirm that there is no unexpected mismatch. Note that some IEC applications may be programmed to set certain Servopack parameters, which may be different than the backup image of parameters stored in the MPiec controller. In this case the SGDH motors encoder is output on the 1CN connector as simulated encoder. Is there a way to send comments to the controller so they can be viewed if the program is uploaded? Posted Date: 03/22/2001 Answer: The double slash comments (preceded with "//") are stripped from the code before it is downloaded. To make a comment that is sent to the controller, use the "NO" (No Operation) command. The command/comment will be sent to the controller and will count toward the 1000 programming lines. The NO command is usually used for important machine information (version number, contact information) and not for general commenting. Is there a way to perform an initialization without losing the parameter settings? Posted Date: 11/28/2005 Answer: Yes. To do this, a "User Initialization" will have to be performed. When the Access Level ( A 1 - 0 1 ) is set to "Advanced", the "Function A2 User Constants" option will appear in the top level of the menu. The parameters desired for custom access are entered into A2-XX parameters. After any of the A2 parameters have been programmed, the "User Program" option appears in the choice of Access Levels. Choosing this option will allow only those parameters programmed in A2-XX to be accessed in "Programming". Up to 32 parameters may be programmed. To add parameters to or delete parameters from A2-XX list , change the Access Level back to Advanced. Then, the current programming must be set to default. This can be done by setting parameter o2-03 to '1: Set default'. Once this is done, there will be a new selection available in parameter A1-03. In this parameter, '1110: User initialize' will become available. Selecting '1110: User initialize' in parameter A1-03 will initialize the drive to user default settings.
